Description
Composition and Properties
- Smoke Dye (Red, Yellow, Blue): Vibrant powdered dye, 1 lb per color, specially formulated to sublimate and produce dense, vividly colored smoke. These three primary colors can be combined to create secondary colors.
- Potassium Chlorate: 2 lb powerful oxidizer, essential for igniting and sustaining vigorous combustion reactions at relatively low temperatures.
- Terephthalic Acid (TPA): 6 lb of this “smoke-forming” agent, ensuring thick and prolonged smoke production with high optical density. Great as an inert, lox toxicity screening agent.
- Stearic Acid Powder: 1 lb stabilizer and fuel enhancer, improving consistency and performance of smoke formulations.
- Magnesium Carbonate: 1 lb additive to keep reaction rates and temperatures in check. Also serves as an anti-caking agent.
- NC Lacquer: 1 quart nitrocellulose-based lacquer at 12% concentration in acetone, a ubiquitous and fast-drying pyrotechnic binder which serves as a secondary fuel.

Well, the yellow dye is out of stock, so I couldn’t get the kit. But, Invention Incarnate is how I found this source, and I have made two or three orders of several of the above items. FWC is super fast in shipping, and has consistently low prices, with high quality chemicals. I’ll be grabbing some more things as I use my stock up, and I will definitely be buying here.

I found Invention Incarnate on YouTube and LOVE his videos. I have been making smoke devices for years but not with grenade fuzes. Now I am on a kick again to add to my gun vault for when the Zombie Apocalypse happens.
I am going to experiment using the M228 Fuze with Shotgun shell primers instead. A 6mm drill bit and a reamer 3-5 times and it drops right in. I Emailed/texted with Tim and he said he never had too much luck using primers as it isn’t 100% reliable. I found that to be the case with small and large pistol primers as they need to be seated perfectly flush. That’s fine for milled brass from the factory but a guy with an 18V Dewalt and a reamer… A perfectly flush fuze is a little hard to get. However… the shotgun primers have a collar that level them perfectly. They are A LOT louder than the SPP or LPP but that’s fine.
I look forward to getting everything buttoned up!
The website here was perfect with getting everything out. That and emails… They did a fine job and have a committed customer from here on thanks to Tim!
