For a few months I have been experimenting with color smoke bombs with mixed success. The dyes provided here are the most reliable that I have found and the least expensive. Using the formula for each color provided under the recipies tab and selecting smoke have been extremely reliable with very nice saturated colors. The formula for each dye is the same: 50% dye, 30% Potassium Chlorate, 20% Lactose and 10% Magnesium Carbonate. I also pass the mixture, with the dye, through a 30 mesh screen which breaks up the clumps of dye and gives a nice consistent burn. Notice the total of the ingredients adds to 110%, but it works well. There are also smoke formulas for mixing the red, yellow and blue to givbe orange, violet and green that are excellent. I may try adding a little extra potassium chlorate to speed the burn up a little. Wear gloves when working with the dyes. Very glad I found the dyes and formulas here.
