Summary

“I’ve compared the Spanish blue to a phenolic fueled and bound blue and found the burn rate only slightly slower with the “phenol blue”. The colors are very close, but I thought the phenolic one was a little deeper. +3% alcohol for pressed stars/comets. To increase the bum rate, and ability to hold fire at high ejection speeds, Mg/AI could be added. If the other colors in your flower are “bright” this may be a good option. That will lighten the blue color, though.” (Jim Widmann)
