These compositions may be dampened with water. If your water has any tendency to be alkaline, buffer it with boric acid. Boric acid is sparingly soluble, and about the strongest solution you can make is 1%. Dampening the composition with a 1% or 0.5% sol’n of H3BO3 in water should prevent any alkaline reaction. Cut about 3/8″ to 1/2″ and dust with home-made meal. Allow to try appx. 1 week.
