Summary

Barium Nitrate is posionous. Wear respirator and gloves when working with it. Never use with chlorate mixtures, even if chlorate is in a separate layer not in contact with the AP mixture. Failure to do so could result in formation of extremely sensitive ammonium chlorate, resulting in spontaneous combustion or explosion.

Bind with ethenol alcohol. Red gum may be substituted for the shellac without changing the effect. These stars burn slower than usual and are optimal for use as microstars in gerbs, drivers, comets etc. The presence of AP in the formula requires an AP prime applied with NC lacquer before compounds containing KNO3 comes into contact with it.
