Summary

Careful when priming chlorate stars with this. It would be safe to prime and dry quickly then use the stars ASAP. I wouldn’t leave these sitting around the shed for a few years.

The charcoal can be mixed but i use the airfloat and 80mesh. The Indian Al can be kept out or coarser Al can be used but, experimentation would be required. The Ferro-Ti is also not necessary. Both metals improve the heat of the prime while being easily ignitable. the Ferro-ti also gives the star a nice bright tail for a second or two. The prime is unmilled to keep the powder coarse so that the prime is rough when applied to the stars. No binder is included either to make the prime a bit “dusty”. Lloyd Sponenburgh helped give me some ideas with this formula.
