Summary

9 parts Water are boiled and all but the lampblack added to it. 2 parts Alcohol are used to wet the lampblack, which is then combined with the other components and mixed very well. The mix is then placed in linen cloth and pressed hard in a platen to drive out excess moisture, aiming for a 3/8-1/2″ thick slabs which are allowed to dry for two weeks before breaking up. into 1/2″ chunks.

Weingart is very passionate about the beauty of these stars, and the importance of mixing and drying them well.
